The Rhode Center is owned and operated by an entirely volunteer-driven organization, Lakeside Players, Inc.

 

As such, every production, collaboration, special event and rental is facilitated by a network of volunteers, members and associate members. Opportunities range from temporary to fixed-term roles, from ushers at a performance to project-based artists and craftspeople to elected members of our board of directors and committees. Roughly 300 volunteers contribute to the LSP Inc. mission in some capacity throughout our season.

 

Additionally, the Rhode Center is home to the Pollard Gallery and Gifts, which is also run by volunteer co-managers and docents.

 

Annual events are a great place to get involved. The Big Clean takes place in the summer and is a way for additional community members to lend a hand and tour parts of the building not often seen by the public. At the Big Clean, our goal is to tackle a variety of restoration and improvement projects throughout the historic property. Volunteers also love participating in our annual Bowls and Books, which is our largest fundraiser. Volunteers can contribute to the planning of this large-scale soup competition and local author showcase and are also needed to help during the event.
