Board of Directors Review:
Second Week in June

We will do our best to reach back to candidants shortly after the Board of Directors has reviewed to extend offers. We especially realize that the selected director for the first couple of shows in our season will need ample time to prepare and will move forward accordingly.

How Can I Get a Copy of the Script?

A limited number of copies are available for loan, upon request and pending availability, by contacting us. You may also find some of these titles at local libraries or by doing a Google search for online retailers. If you need help, let us know.

Is this a paid opportunity?

Lakeside Players Inc. is a volunteer-driven organization and as such, does not have a paid staff. However, the Board of Directors realizes that directing is a large commitment that requires remuneration and the leadership will make available a stipend for your time and talents. You will be contacted with more information during the application process.

What is the time commitment?

Most of our directors choose to hold auditions between 8-10 weeks prior to open and begin rehearsals shortly thereafter. Our network of actors are accomstomed to weekly rehearsals consisting primarly of weekday evenings and occasionally weekend rehearsals. An average rehearsal is between 2 and 3 hours and are often 4 or 5 days a week. The length of a production's run-up and its rehearsal schedule is ultimately up to the director, in consultation with the Board of Directors and the production team.

What about my production team?

We are always excited to facilitate introductions and will help you assemble a team as needed. Generally, directors work with our resident Scenic Designer and artists as we have grown quite comfortable with the organization's and venue's nuances and capactities.  Many new-to-us directors have enjoyed being paired with a "Rhode veteran" in the areas of Assistant Directors, Stage Managers, and designers.  However, if you have others in mind for your production team, we invite you to address this in your Production Overview. We love meeting new people and growing the Rhode Center family.

How can I learn more?

You are encouraged to contact any member of the LSP Inc. Board of Directors with specific questions or to arrange a time to discuss in person. We would also be happy to connect you with other directors who have worked with us recently. Reach us to continue the conversation.
